House, Senate Differ on Uber Rules

Florida’s Senate is having a difficult time agreeing on rules for Uber. Some people want to make it mandatory that Uber increases their levels of insurance while others do not. The Senate wants to make it mandatory that Uber drivers have higher insurance levels so that all passengers are protected when in the car.

The problem is that neither side can come to an agreement where both parties are happy. One side wants more insurance while the other side does not.

The problem is essentially for the Senate and Uber drivers. The Senate has the problem of fighting for increased insurance. If that follows through, Uber drivers have the responsibility of getting the increased insurance so that they are on the same level as taxi drivers.

  1. Wow- three out of 5 fatal problems...how depressing. Broward College is just a short drive away from my house; I took classes there in high school. Scary how people can just get shot while driving! Those bar guys were lucky that they woke up safe, with only their watches missing! Your Uber article was really interesting. Usually, they have issues regarding pricing, such as in the story I covered. You should check it out http://intro2ent.blogspot.com/2016/01/identifying-local-opportunities.html

  2. Oh man. This was quite a depressing read, and the worse part is that i lived quite close to Broward College's South Campus was right down the road from where I live back in Broward. As for the Uber Article, there is also an issue with Uber drivers being paid properly, since the company has slashed their fares by around 32% to bring in more customers, who are most likely not evenly distributed.
